Winter session of Parliament to begin Friday



KATHMANDU: The winter session of the federal parliament is beginning from Friday.

According to federal parliament sources, the deputy speaker at the Parliament Dr. Shiva Maya Tumbahamphe will chair the session.

She will be chairing as the post of the Speaker is vacant after the then Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara resigned from the post.

The business for the House session has been already scheduled.

According to sources, the House will be briefed about rescheduled Cabinet and important decisions and tasks of the government.

In addition to this, the election of the new Speaker would be held in the session.

Similarly, the citizenship bill, federal civil servants bill, passport bill, bill related to integrated land management, and Millennium Challenge Corporation pact would be discussed in the session.
