KATHMANDU: Cloudy weather along with rainfall prevail throughout the country on Tuesday as, according to meteorologist, the western belt of monsoon trough is based in the surrounding of the average location.

Meteorologist Bibhuti Pokhrel said that the monsoon trough has been formed in the Indian state of Odisha as well as around the West Bengal. The wind originated from the Bay of Bengal in India contains more moisture, which has accelerated monsoon activities.

Pokhrel said the weather would be generally to mostly cloudy throughout the country on Tuesday. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at several places of the central and western regions.

Heavy rainfall has also been predicted at a few places. According to Pokhrel, rainfall will continue on Wednesday as well.

However, the weather is likely to see improvements from Thursday.
