PM Oli ‘disenchanted’ with House committees

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has expressed disenchantment over what he said ‘hard time’ coming from various parliamentary committees to carry out the government’s works.

This came to the fore when Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Krishna Bahadur Mahara disclosed PM Oli’s complaint at a program in Kathmandu today.

Speaker Mahara quoted the prime minister as saying that the parliamentary committees are giving hard time to the PM.

PM Oli has also urged Speaker Mahara to hold talks with the committee chairpersons and discuss the issues.

Mahara said it is the duty of the committees to monitor the government, and not try to control it.

Meanwhile, Speaker Mahara also instructed the committee chairpersons to keep on monitoring the government activities.

“The task of the committees is to monitor the government to ensure that it does not go off-track,” Mahara said at the program.
