French, Malian forces kill 20 militants in Mali

BAMAKO: At least 20 militants have died in French and Malian forces’ operations in northern Mali, media reports have said.

The operation in Akabar, a remote part near the border with Niger, is continuing, according to the army.

Mali in recent times has become increasingly engulfed in violence following a Tuareg uprising in 2012. (Agencies)
