MYAGDI: Around 550 households in Myagdi have been affected by floods and landslides following continuous rainfall on September 24 and 27.
According to the District Administration Office, 111 houses have been completely destroyed, 93 partially damaged and 342 are at risk.
Assistant Chief District Officer Kul Prasad Acharya said Annapurna Rural Municipality has suffered the most damage, with 45 houses completely destroyed, 12 partially damaged and 183 at risk.
In Beni Municipality, 30 houses have been completely destroyed, 14 partially damaged and 45 are at risk. Similarly, 23 houses have been completely destroyed, 32 partially damaged and 35 are at risk in Mangala Rural Municipality.
In Raghuganga Rural Municipality, six houses have been completely destroyed, 27 partially damaged and 53 are at risk. Malika Rural Municipality has reported three houses completely destroyed, one partially damaged and three at risk, while Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality has reported four houses completely destroyed, seven partially damaged and 23 at risk.
The disaster also damaged or destroyed 56 livestock sheds, killing 20 animals.
A total of 115 people affected by landslides in Giwang, Paudhar, Kindu and Ghirwang areas of Annapurna Rural Municipality have been rescued and relocated to temporary camps in Sikh and Ghar. As road transportation has been disrupted, relief materials have been airlifted from Beni to the displaced people.
Five people have died in landslides in Annapurna Rural Municipality and two in Malika Rural Municipality. One person each has gone missing in Beni Municipality and Annapurna Rural Municipality.
Authorities are collecting details of damage to roads, drinking water systems, river-control structures, school and public buildings, trekking trails, irrigation facilities, agricultural land and livestock.
The district administration said the number of casualties and the extent of damage could rise as a comprehensive assessment is still underway.
