‘Efforts on to remove Nepal aviation from EU blacklist’

KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Bhattarai on Thursday said efforts have been initiated to remove Nepal’s aviation sector from the European Union blacklist.

Minister Bhattarai stated that said discussions have been held with the EU Ambassador to ensure Nepali flights’ access to EU countries.

Releasing the ‘Aviation Safety Report 2019’ published by Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) in Kathmandu today, he said since Nepal has augmented the safety standard, he hoped that the EU would remove it from the blacklist.

According to Minister Bhattarai, networking and personal rapport has had an influence on many of the international decisions about Nepal. Maintaining that civil aviation is a sensitive sector, he suggested all stakeholders not to compromise on the quality of aviation service.
