Deadly attack on Nepali workers in Qatar; one killed

KATHMANDU: A Nepali worker has died in an unprecedented deadly attack on Nepalese workers.

It was Tuesday night in Zauda Park, Doha when the incident of attack took place. Five other Nepalese workers have been injured, says the Nepal Embassy in Qatar.

The bulletin issued by the Nepali Embassy has confirmed that Tabrej Ansari from Sunsari district of Nepal lost his life in the violent attack on him and others.

Hamad Hospital located in Doha is investigating the cause of death by conducting the autopsy on the dead body and also completing the legal formalities related to the case.

Umar Ansari, another Nepalese worker who was also injured in the attack, is also receiving treatment in the ICU (intensive care unit) in the same hospital. Those killed and got injured in the attack are from Sunsari district of Nepal.

Their family members in Sunsari have already been informed about the latest developments in their case. Qatar police have taken cognizance of the incident and have proceeded ahead with further investigation in the matter.

Nepal embassy in Qatar has issued advisory to all the Nepalese workers not to visit the crowded public place without being alert about their security. Unless it is very urgent to visit such places due to unavoidable work, Nepalese workers should avoid public places in order to avoid miscreants and ideologically tilted locals.

As per the report, Qatar police has arrested some of the suspects alleged to have been involved in the attack.
