Govt organizing civic felicitation for SAG medal winners today



KATHMANDU: The government is organizing a civic felicitation program in honor of the medal winners and coaches of the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) held recently on Friday.

According to National Sports Council (NSC), a rally participated by the athletes will be conducted in the Kathmandu Valley in their honor. The rally will begin from Tripureshwor at 11 am, will pass to Indrachowk via New Road then to Ratna Park to Singha Durbar to Pulchowk to Lagankhel to Satdobato to Koteshwor to Sallaghari. The rally will return from Sallaghari to Koteshwor to Baneshwor and will finally end on the premises of the Tripureshwor-based NSC.

Meanwhile, the NSC has called on all the people in general to take part in the civic felicitation program to boost the morale of the players.

Nepal won 206 medals including 51 gold, 60 silver and 95 bronze medals in the 13th SAG held on December 1-10.

Transport to remain unaffected

The civic felicitation organized by the government will not affect the transport today, said Metropolitan Traffic Police Division. According to the Division, the participants will use vehicles form the side lane and the dividers have been avoided to this effect.
