KARNALI: Expecting mothers at the health facility in Karnali State have been entitled to receive Rs 2,000 each for nutrition.

The ‘maternity nutrition package program’ that was earlier announced by Karnali State Ministry of Social Development has been implemented since this month.

Rs 2,000 each would be provided to women delivering the child at the health facility.

A woman delivering a child at the health facility in Karnali State will receive Rs 4,800.

Earlier, an expecting mother was getting Rs 2,000 as a travel allowance and Rs 800 each for four prenatal tests.

According to Chetan Nidhi Wagle, Chief of Public Health Office Surkhet, only the women from disadvantaged groups are entitled to get a nutrition amount of Rs 2,000 in the state hospital.
