CIAA drags four to court for graft

KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a charge sheet against office-bearers of a local users’ committee and the technicians of Barahathawa municipality.

The anti-graft body filed a case against them at the Special Court on Wednesday.

The CIAA has chargesheeted Barahathawa municipality’s engineer Sanjiban Yadav, sub-engineer Anil Kumar Yadav and chairperson of users’ committee, Nepal Saha, secretary Pramod Kumar Raya and treasurer Kalapati Kumari Devi for embezzling amount by using low-quality construction materials while constructing RCC road.

According to CIAA Spokesperson, Pradeep Kumar Koirala, the charge sheet was filed, demanding the recovery of the loss equal to Rs 463,000 from each.
