NHRC urges govt to ensure pesticides-free edible goods

KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the concerned sides to ensure the access of consumers on pesticides free edible goods including fruits and vegetables.

The NHRC spokesperson Bed Bhattarai issuing a press release today stated that serious attention of the NHRC was drawn on the issue of withdrawing the decision of checking pesticides in border points while importing edible goods in Nepal.

The press release further states that reaching pesticides free goods to consumers was a responsibility of government enshrined by the constitution, therefore, it should be guaranteed by the government.
