KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden has recommended the dismissal of three party ministers serving in the Bagmati provincial government.
Lingden has written to the Election Commission and the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, seeking the dismissal of ministers Raju Bista, Rajendra Prajapati and Gir Bahadur Tamang for joining the provincial government against the party’s central decision.
The party said disciplinary action was initiated after the three ministers failed to respond to requests for clarification. Meanwhile, RPP’s Bagmati provincial parliamentary party leader Uddhav Thapa has also already faced disciplinary action.
Chief Minister Kiran Thapa is seeking a vote of confidence in the provincial assembly today. The future of his government has become uncertain amid divisions within the RPP.
The votes of two RPP provincial assembly members are expected to be crucial in determining whether the government survives the confidence vote.
