Nepal Army Day marked in Beijing



BEIJING: The Embassy of Nepal in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) marked the Nepal Army Day by organizing a formal reception here on Monday. Major General of the People’s Liberation Army of China Zhang Wenlong attended the reception as the chief guest.

On the occasion, Nepal’s Ambassador to China Leela Mani Paudyal recalled the brave soldiers and martyrs of Nepalese Army for their sacrifices for the cause of the country and people as well for international peace and security.

Paudyal also highlighted that the age-old and multi-faceted relations between Nepal and China have led to strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between the Nepal Army and PLA of China. “The cooperation between our two armies in the fields of human resources development and training, humanitarian and disaster management, medical equipment and peace-keeping operations have been instrumental in further expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation,” Ambassador Paudyal observed.

Present on the occasion were Major Generals of PLA Song Yanchao and Xu Hui, ambassadors of different countries stationed in Beijing, representatives of the Defense, Military, Air and Naval Attachés of the diplomatic missions of different countries based in Beijing.

Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing Sushil Kumar Lamsal, Military Attaché Brigadier General of Nepal Army Binod Pandey, Nepali scholars and scientists in Beijing and some Chinese nationals working for the greater good of Nepal-China relations attended the program.
