Bharatpur youth discharged after recovery from COVID-19

CHITWAN: A youth, who was receiving treatment in isolation in Bharatpur Hospital, has been discharged from the hospital after he tested negative for COVID-19 in the re-examination of his throat swab.

Organizing a news conference on Saturday, the hospital said that the 27-year-old was sent home after he tested negative for coronavirus.

During a rapid diagnostic test, a 63-year-old woman from Rapti Municipality-8 in Chitwan was suspected of having the disease, which prompted to carry out the tests of her two sons as well. In the PCR test, the woman and her 27-year-old son tested positive for COVID-19.

Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr. Shreeram Tiwari said that the youth had no infection during the re-examinations conducted after 24 hours. However, he has to stay in home quarantine for a week even after his discharge.

Likewise, the woman’s second son has been sent home after keeping him under quarantine as he was tested negative for coronavirus.

Similarly, the hospital shared that the woman is receiving treatment in the hospital. They had come to Nepal from London via Hong Kong some five weeks ago.
