EC gives 10 days for parties to file registration for NA election

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has called on political parties to file registration for the National Assembly elections within 10 days.

Issuing a notice to the parties on Friday, the EC urged them to file nomination in accordance with the Article 271 of the constitution and clauses 48, 49 of the Act related to Political Parties-2017 for the election purpose.

Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said those political parties wishing to file nomination in the National Assembly elections must produce the audit report of the previous fiscal year.

The two-year term of 19 lawmakers is expiring on March 3, 2020.
