EC instructs parties to make manifestos public by Feb 15

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has set a deadline for political parties and candidates to make public their election manifestos related to the upcoming polls.

The Commission has directed parties and candidates to publish their commitment papers by February 15.

With campaigning underway for the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5, most political parties have yet to unveil their manifestos, except for a few.

According to the Election Commission, Section 37 of the Election Code of Conduct, 2082, and Section 57 of the Political Parties Act, 2073, require political parties to submit their election manifestos to the Commission, while candidates must submit their commitment letters to the concerned election offices.
