KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh has said that the long-held belief that one must go abroad to receive a quality education has now faded. He emphasized that excellent education is available within Nepal.
Speaking at the 45th anniversary celebration of Dillibazaar Kanya Multiple Campus, Deputy Prime Minister Singh stated, “The students here are not only educated but also capable, skilled, and competitive. This campus has proven that high-quality education can be achieved right here in our country.”
Highlighting the institution’s significant role in advancing women’s education, Singh described the 45-year journey of the campus as “inspiring.” He noted that the campus began with just 77 students and now serves around 700 students, calling it a historic achievement.
“This campus has contributed not only to women’s education but also to the overall education system of the country,” Singh said. “Students from more than 60 districts across Nepal are currently enrolled here, clearly reflecting its growing popularity and nationwide influence.”
The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed confidence in the success of the campus’s graduates. He said that many alumni have secured positions in various commissions, government agencies, and the private sector, which proves the institution’s effectiveness in producing skilled professionals.
He acknowledged the increasing number of students and stressed the need for further upgrading and investment in the education sector.
“The government is ready to provide necessary support for improving infrastructure, educational quality, and technical capacity of this campus. Strengthening and modernizing this institution is a responsibility the state must take seriously,” he added. “The government will offer all possible support to enhance the quality of education here.”
Aparajita Aryal, Principal of Dillibazaar Kanya Multiple Campus, said the institution has managed to maintain academic excellence despite various challenges.
“Even in the face of numerous obstacles, we have continued our progress toward becoming one of the top educational institutions in the country,” she said.
During the event, the campus administration honored students with outstanding academic results, while faculty members and staff were presented with certificates of appreciation for their long-term contributions.
