Deuba: Public must know leaders’ contributions

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba stressed the importance of showcasing the contributions of party leaders to the public.

He made these remarks on Saturday while addressing the first memorial service of the late Khagendra Raj Regmi, a former Nepali Congress leader, former Syangja district president, and former Member of Parliament.

Speaking in Kathmandu, Deuba highlighted the necessity of informing the public about the significant contributions made by party leaders in service of the nation.

He also urged collective effort to complete the unfinished tasks left by these departed leaders. Deuba fondly remembered Regmi as an individual who was deeply committed to the party.

During the event, Nepali Congress Vice President Dhanraj Gurung stated that individuals involved in politics should not expect immediate returns, describing politics as a journey of sacrifice and continuous dedication.

He emphasized the need to overcome numerous obstacles encountered on the political path. Gurung also commented on the many ups and downs faced by the Nepali Congress President during his political career, suggesting that there should be no resentment over his five terms as Prime Minister.

Other Nepali Congress leaders present at the ceremony also underscored the importance of remembering and building upon the contributions of senior leaders to advance the nation.
