KATHMANDU: Chief of the International Department of Chinese Communist Party (CPP) Central Committee Song Tao has arrived in Kathmandu on a three-day visit today.

The Chinese delegation led by Song is visiting Nepal at the invitation of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

The visiting delegation will participate in a two-day high-level interaction between NCP top leaders and the CPP beginning this afternoon at Hotel Yak and Yeti in Kathmandu.

The interaction is said to focus on Chinese President Xi Jinping’s ‘thought and principles’ on enforcement of party discipline as well as the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

This is the first time that Nepal and China are organizing such an interaction. It has been widely speculated that Chinese President Xi Jinping would visit Nepal in October.
