Israelis vote in second general election in 5 months

JERUSALEM: Israelis on Tuesday are voting in the country’s second general election in five months.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had called the snap election after failing to form a coalition government with a viable majority after April’s vote, international media reports have said.

Negotiations to form a new coalition are likely to start as soon as voting ends, and exit polls are published.

Netanyahu has reiterated his pledge to annex Jewish settlements in the West Bank. (Agencies)
