Nepal will attain SDGs by 2030, says PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has said the government is working on plans to to elevate the country from the list of least developed countries (LDCs) by 2022 in order to attain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

Speaking at a program organized on the occasion of the 69th Democracy Day at the Army Pavilion, Tundikhel in the capital on Tuesday, Prime Minister Oli said that the Nepali people’s long-held wish for development and prosperity is soon being realized as the country is heading towards prosperity.

Extending the best wishes on the occasion, Prime Minister further said that the government is now zeroing in on ending unemployment, backwardness, discrimination and underdevelopment to fight autocracy and totalitarianism.

“Nepal is now heading towards complete democracy along with economic development and social justice,” said Oli, adding, “We have recently marked the government’s first year as the foundation year.”
