Adverse weather affects flights today

KATHMANDU: Flight schedules across the country, particularly to destinations in the Tarai, were affected today due to adverse weather conditions.

Flights from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to various destinations have been disrupted due to low visibility.

TIA Spokesperson Rinji Sharma confirmed that Biratnagar Airport has been completely shut down, while Janakpur Airport reopened after a temporary closure a while ago.

Additionally, airports in Bhadrapur, Bharatpur, Pokhara, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, and Dhangadhi resumed operations later than scheduled, with flights running irregularly.

Flights to Biratnagar were also disrupted on Monday.

The thick fog has impacted both domestic and international flights. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is partially cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi Province today while mainly fair in the rest of the country.
