One held on charge of human trafficking

CHITWAN: The District Police Office, Chitwan has arrested a person on charge of his involvement in human trafficking.

The police arrested Raj Kumar Thing aka Raju Tamang, 44, a resident of Hetauda Submetropolis-14, reasoning he was attempting to traffic five women to India in a lure of foreign employment.

Thing was held from Narayangadh, Chitwan and made public on Friday, according to police chief in district, Gautam Mishra.

Thing was found assembling girls from various parts of the country at Narayangadh and about to send them to Sunauli by bus.

“He had collected passports from the girls by assuring them of visa stamp from India,” police chief Mishra said, adding that they acted on tip off. The girls themselves had informed police suspecting Thing’s intention.

Investigation has been launched on Thing by taking permission from Chitwan District Court to detain him for four days. Similarly, the girls have been sent to safety homes.
