KATHMANDU: With the axis of monsoon trough gradually surging towards north, the rains are likely to occur in various parts of the country this week.

According to Meteorological Foresting Division (MFD), the axis of monsoon trough is located along northern Rajasthan, Haryana, Southern Uttar Pradesh, southern Bihar and Western Bay of Bengal, Jharkhanda and West Bengal.

According to MFD, rains accompanied by thunderstorms and lighting are expected in some parts of the country today.

People inhabiting along the cost of rivers starting from the Chure range are advised to take caution due to possible floods.

The MFD has predicted partly to generally cloudy weather for a week in various parts of the country.
