Bhanu Cup Football Tournament kicks off today



DAMAULI: The 17th Bhanu Cup football tournament starts today in Tanahun.

Organized by the Bhansar Youth Club, the tournament is being held at the playground in Bhansar, Bhanu Municipality-1.

The Bhansar Youth Club has been organizing the football tournament annually to promote Chundiramgha, the birthplace of Bhanubhakta Acharya.

According to Bishnu Adhikari, the club’s sports coordinator, the opening match will feature the current champions, Seven Star Youth Club of Tanahu, against Young Boys FC Chitwan.

A total of 24 teams are participating in the competition, which will conclude with the final match on August 10.

The tournament winner will receive a trophy and Rs. 250,211 in cash, while the runner-up will walk away with Rs. 125,211.

Individual awards include Rs. 5,200 for the best player, and Rs. 5,211 each for the best goalkeeper and the top scorer.

In addition to the football matches, shot-put and chess competitions will be held, with the winners receiving a cash prize of Rs. 6,211 each.
