Woman who fled with Rs 20 million of depositors arrested



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a woman who fled with around Rs 20 million of depositors from a cooperative.

The arrested is Pratima Sitaula, 32, of Kathmandu Metropolitan-26. She was arrested from Bidur, Nuwakot on Monday.

Sitaula, an operator of the cooperative, had made off with Rs 20 million from Naglo Deep Saving and Credit Cooperative in Tokha-9 of Kathmandu.

On March 20, 2018, Patan High Court had fined her Rs 1.8 million and announced a month jail term.

Police said Sitaula has been sent to Central Jail Sundhara to serve the jail term.
