Two arrested in Birgunj with counterfeit currency

BIRGUNJ: Police arrested apprehended two individuals last night for possession of 123 counterfeit Nepali 1000 rupee notes in Birgunj Metropolitan City-9, along the Ghantaghar road.

The detained individuals are identified as 30-year-old Kamudin Mian from West Champaran, and 40-year-old Halima Khatun from Bara Prasauni Rural Municipality-2.

The arrest was made by police from the Ward Police Office Birta, intercepting the suspects as they attempted to cross from India into Nepal with the forged currency.

Investigations into the matter are currently underway.
