Quartz crystal contributes to tourism promotion in Gorkha: PM Dahal

GORKHA: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has stated that the valuable quartz crystal has played a significant role in promoting tourism in Gorkha district.

During a program organized by Gorkha Municipality to install a quartz crystal at Gorkha Palace today, Prime Minister Dahal emphasized that placing this precious quartz crystal in a district of historical and archaeological importance would greatly enhance tourism prospects.

He expressed confidence that the placement of the precious stone would highlight the significance and role of Gorkha, instructing the relevant authorities to ensure the security of the quartz crystal and manage the historical site effectively.

Before being placed in the room housing the throne of the former King Prithvi Narayan Shah, the quartz crystal was worshipped in the palace courtyard.

“I am pleased to visit the palace premises for the first time since the declaration of the Republic of Nepal, especially on the occasion of placing this precious stone in such a historically and archaeologically significant location,” said PM Dahal, expressing his satisfaction.

Committing to contribute to the preservation of Gorkha’s historical legacy, the Prime Minister shared that infrastructure development, including road and bridge construction, has been prioritized in the district.

He remarked, “The people of Gorkha district anticipate witnessing significant developmental projects, including the Budhigandaki Hydropower Project, the Gorakhkali rubber industry, and the construction of an industrial park.”

Acknowledging the government’s commitment to address local concerns in policy, programs, and budget allocations for the current fiscal year, PM Dahal assured that the upcoming budget would focus on development and generate excitement among the citizens.
