Fatal road accident claims two lives, injures four in Mugu district



MUGU: Tragedy struck in Mugu district on Wednesday as a road accident claimed the lives of two individuals and left four others injured.

The incident occurred when a jeep (bearing license plate Karnali Province 02-001 Ja 0059), en route to Sorukot of Soru rural municipality from Gamgadhi, veered off the road and plunged approximately 100 meters down a ravine at Soru-6.

The deceased have been identified as Kabiraj Nepali, the driver of the jeep, and an unidentified woman. Birendra Thapa, Chief of the District Police Office, Mugu, confirmed the fatalities.

Among the injured are Manjane Nepali, Sarjan Nepali, Hirading Nepali, and Prem Nepali. Manjane’s condition is reported to be critical.

Prompt response teams swiftly transported the injured to Mugu District Hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident to ascertain further details.
