RSP vying for four ministries, including Home Ministry

KATHMANDU: As the newly formed government gears up to constitute a new Cabinet, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), a member of the coalition, has expressed interest in securing four ministries, with particular focus on the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The CPN (Maoist Center) recently joined forces with CPN-UML, RSP, JSP, and Janamat Party, effectively breaking away from the alliance led by the Nepali Congress.

As discussions regarding power-sharing ensue among the new coalition members, it has been revealed that RSP intends to stake its claim for the Home Ministry along with three other key ministries.

Sources within the RSP have indicated that the party is considering nominating its Chairman, Rabi Lamichhane, as a potential candidate for the position of Home Minister.

Today, the newly formed ruling alliance is scheduled to convene a meeting to deliberate on the allocation of ministries and other related matters.

In a recent development, the government has already appointed three new ministers from each of CPN-UML, RSP, and CPN (Maoist Center) on Monday, setting the stage for further discussions on power distribution within the coalition.
