Yet another earthquake jolts Bajura

KATHMANDU: An earthquake of 3.5 magnitude jolted Bajura in Nepal on Monday morning.

The epicenter of the recent seismic activity was pinpointed around Kolti of Budhinanda municipality in Bajura, exacerbating the challenges faced by the region.

According to Dr. Lok Bijay Adhikari, senior seismologist at the National Earthquake Measurement Center, an earthquake measuring 3.5 magnitude jolted Bajura at 6:52 am on Monday morning, with its epicenter centered around Kolti.

This recurrence follows a 5.9 magnitude earthquake in Bajura last year, which inflicted substantial physical and human losses on the region.

Even after a year since the initial earthquake in Bajura, numerous affected individuals still struggle to rebuild their homes.

The tremor this morning reignited panic among those previously impacted by the seismic events.

Adding to the seismic woes, on November 3, a magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck Ramidanda in Jajarkot, claiming the lives of 154 people.

The aftermath saw the destruction of over 30,000 houses in Jajarkot and Rukum West, compounding the challenges faced by these earthquake-prone areas.
