PM Dahal to visit earthquake-affected Bajhang tomorrow

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”, is visiting Bajhang, the district hit by Tuesday’s earthquake, tomorrow.

The Prime Minister’s secretariat confirmed his visit to Bajhang, the epicenter of Tuesday’s earthquake disaster.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Dahal chaired a meeting of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee at Singha Darbar.

During this meeting, he expressed his commitment to provide more relief, restoration, and reconstruction efforts in Bajhang.

“As the Prime Minister, it is imperative that we visit Bajhang to personally assess the situation and take necessary actions based on the information we receive,” he stated during the meeting.

The recent earthquake of magnitude 6.3, struck Bajhang at 3:06 pm on Tuesday.

This disaster claimed the life of one woman, and several others sustained injuries.

Additionally, numerous private residences and public buildings in the district were also damaged as a result of the tremor.

Prime Minister Dahal has, meanwhile, directed the authorities concerned to ensure prompt rescue and relief efforts targeting those affected by the earthquake.
