KATHMANDU: Nepal Airlines Flight RA412, en route from Kathmandu to Dammam, Saudi Arabia, experienced a mid-flight return to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) due to a technical malfunction on Wednesday night.
The flight, which took off from TIA, made a U-turn after approximately one hour in the air, nearing Pakistan’s airspace.
The aircraft safely landed back in Kathmandu at approximately 11:30 PM on Wednesday night.
Sources from TIA reported that the aircraft’s return was prompted by a technical issue with the technology responsible for detecting potential dangers in the plane’s vicinity.
Passengers affected by the diversion have been accommodated on an alternative aircraft to continue their journey.
