KATHMANDU: After several days of persistent rainfall across the nation, including the Kathmandu Valley, the Weather Forecast Division has said that the weather is expected to gradually improve starting today.

The extended rainy spell had been attributed to the delayed withdrawal of the monsoon.

Nepal has been under the influence of a low-pressure area, part of the monsoon system, centered around Jharkhand, India.

This system caused heavy rainfall in Indian states, including Sikkim.

However, the Division has indicated that its impact on Nepal will begin to weaken from today, leading to an improvement in weather conditions.

According to the Division, the weather in the Kathmandu Valley has already shown signs of improvement since last night.

While there is a possibility of light rain in the valley during the afternoon, it is not expected to be as intense as the rainfall experienced in previous days.

The Kathmandu Valley had experienced a drop in temperature due to the persistent rains in recent days.

In the afternoon, partial to normal rainfall is expected in the provinces of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki, while the remaining provinces are forecasted to receive partial rain.

Furthermore, there is a chance of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in a few places in the provinces of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki, as well as isolated locations in the other provinces.

As night falls, the weather is anticipated to be generally clear in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with partly cloudy to normal conditions in the rest of the provinces.

There remains a possibility of light rain with thunder and lightning in a few areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces during the night.
