Nepali PUBG team reaches semi-final



KATHMANDU: The Nepali PUBG Mobile team has successfully advanced to the semi-finals of the prestigious Hangzhou Asian Games eSports competition.

Nepal secured their spot in the semi-finals by securing second place in Group C during the intense elimination round held today. The skilled players Subin Kumar Prajapati, Dipesh Gurung, Sahas Bhandari, and Samir Gurung represented Nepal in this thrilling contest.

In the competition held today, Nepal’s group featured formidable opponents such as Hong Kong, Palestine, and Saudi Arabia. Hong Kong claimed the top spot with a remarkable time of 51 minutes and 9.983 seconds. Nepal followed closely behind with a time of 54 minutes and 4.842 seconds, while Palestine finished at 1 hour, 49 minutes, and 52.527 seconds, and Saudi Arabia concluded at 1 hour, 3 minutes, and 45.107 seconds.

Joining Nepal in the semi-finals are South Korea and Thailand from Group A, China and Chinese Taipei from Group B, and Japan and Indonesia from Group D. In this competitive field, Nepal and Hong Kong from Group C have also secured their positions in the semi-finals.

The next stage of the competition will see the top two teams from each of the four groups competing in two separate semi-final groups, each consisting of four teams. The top two teams from each of these semi-final groups will advance to the final round, where four teams will battle for the coveted medals.

Nepal now has a golden opportunity to secure a place in the finals by performing well tomorrow in their semi-final match. Should they manage to secure a top-three finish in the finals, Nepal will clinch a medal at the prestigious Asian Games.
