PM Dahal, former President Bhandari, among other leaders visit UML office at Chyasal to pay tribute to late Nembang

LALITPUR: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ reached the Chysal-based party office of the CPN (UML) and paid tribute to the Constituent Assembly Chair and former Speaker late Subas Chandra Nembang, offering garlands.

Similarly, former President Bidya Devi Bhandari also reached Chyasal and offered tribute to Nembang.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Timilsina, Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairperson of CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal, Deputy Speaker Indira Rana Magar, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma, Chairperson of the then Council of Ministers Khilraj Regmi also reached Chyasal to pay homage to CPN (UML) Vice-Chairperson and deputy-leader of the CPN (UML) Parliamentary Party, Nembang.

Talking to media persons, Minister Sharma said the government has decided to perform the last rites of Nembang with state honors and give a public holiday on the day of his final rites will be performed to respect his role played in the democratic movement and constitution-making process.

Likewise, CPN (UML) Vice-Chair Bishnu Prasad Poudel, Deputy General-Secretary Pradeep Gyawali, and leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Prem Bahadur Ale, among others paid tribute to the late Nembang. A large number of leaders and cadres have gathered at the party office to pay tribute to Nembang.

Meanwhile, the Socialist Front has expressed sorrow over the demise of the Constituent Assembly Chairperson and CPN (UML) Vice-Chairperson, Nembang.

Issuing a press release today, Front Coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal expressed sorrow on behalf of the party, saying the country has lost a warrior of the democratic movement in the death of Nembang.

The Front also wished for eternal peace to the departed soul and extended condolences to the bereaved family members.

Similarly, Rastriya Janamorcha also expressed grief over demise of leader Nembang.

Leader Nembang died at 1:40 am today due to cardiac arrest.
