Some areas in Kathmandu, Lalitpur to face power outage tomorrow

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced a planned electricity supply interruption in some locations in Kathmandu and Lalitpur tomorrow (Saturday).

As part of the ongoing construction work at the Teku substation, there will be a temporary suspension of electricity service at different places in Kathmandu and Lalitpur from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This interruption is necessary to facilitate the extension and connection of the main power line to the newly constructed 132 KV pathway, it said.

The NEA has issued a notice informing that there will be a scheduled power supply interruption on Saturday, affecting the feeders served by the Ratnapark, Kuleshwar, Pulchowk, and Lagankhel distribution centers.

These centers receive power supply from the K-3 substation and its associated switching stations.

The Authority has assured that efforts will be made to minimize the impact on power supply to the feeders.

Alternate arrangements will be implemented to ensure as little disruption as possible.

Additionally, the affected line will be restored once the necessary work is completed, and this restoration will take place before the scheduled interruption period concludes at 6:30 p.m.
