KATHMANDU: Traffic has been prohibited on roads used for Gupunhi (Kwati Punhi) and Saparu (Gaijatra) festivals of historical and cultural importance in Kathmandu for two days – today and tomorrow.

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has issued a notice that vehicles are prohibited in areas including Ason, Keltol, Indrachok Makhan, Hanumadhoka Durbar premises, Maru Tol-Chikmangal, Jaishidewal, Jabhal Lagan Chowk – Gofal – Bramhtol – Bande – Humat Jaishidewal – Kohiti Bhimsensthan Maru Tol Pafal Dhokatol, Mukumbahi, Yatkha, and Naradevi.

Similarly, entry of vehicles is also prohibited in Tagal, Nhyakha, Bangemudha, Nhaikantala, Ason, Kamalachhi and Bhotahiti areas.
