SC orders to refer writ relating to distribution of funds to ex-combatants to full bench

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has decided to transfer the writ relating to the dispute on the distribution of funds to ex-combatants of the then CPN-Maoist party to the full bench for further hearing.

Hearing on the petition filed against the government’s decision to pay Rs 200 thousand each to the ex-combatant, the division bench of Justices Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada and Hari Prasad Phuyal ordered to carry out the hearing on it in the full bench.

Advocate Gyanendra Raj Aran had filed a writ on May 14 against the government’s decision to provide Rs 200 thousand each to ex-Maoist fighters who were declared disqualified during the verification process of UNMIN.

The Division Bench, on Monday, ordered the SC Administration to inform the petitioner that the writ should be heard in full bench.

SC also ordered to make necessary preparation for the transfer of the case and arrange for the hearing in the full bench.
