PAC draws parliament’s attention to form high-level body to probe 100 kg gold smuggling

KATHMANDU: The Public Account Committee (PAC) has drawn the attention of the parliament to form a high-level committee to probe the 100 kg gold smuggling case.

A meeting of the committee today called for forming a high-powered committee to investigate the case.

“The committee cannot direct in this regard as the case is in the parliament. But the committee has taken a decision in drawing the attention of the parliament to form a high-level committee for investigations,” said Arjun Narsingh KC, who chairs the committee as the senior-most member of the committee.

Similarly, the meeting endorsed the ‘Public Account Committee Operation Procedures, 2080’.

The committee also called the attention of the concerned authorities to the inability of planting paddy in the Tarai for want of irrigation and water scarcity.
