Budget makes economy dynamic: Finance Minister Mahat

POKHARA: Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has said the budget brought by the government would make the national economy dynamic.

At a press conference organized by Nepal Press Union, Kaski in Pokhara today, Finance Minister Mahat mentioned that the budget was brought to make the economy dynamic by keeping the nation and people in the center.

The government has made arrangements for the registration of industries free of cost to operate industries and open initial industries even with a capital of Rs 100, he shared.

The Finance Minister further shared the arrangement of a 50 percent discount in tax to encourage the IT sector.

Stating that the budget could not be allocated as desired in every place due to the limitation of capital expenditure, he expressed the belief that the goals of the budget are popular and it would give popular results.

Secretaries of the Ministry as well as the Chief Secretary were directed to end the trend of not implementing the budget on time. They were urged to make working procedures and award contracts on time, said the Finance Minister.

Also the Spokesperson of the Nepali Congress, Mahat mentioned that the NC was always in favor of encouraging the private sector because the private sector is the driver of economic growth.

On a different note, Mahat said the change in the incumbent ruling alliance was only a rumor. He urged one and all not to run after the rumor.

The incumbent alliance would move ahead by maintaining good governance, achieving economic growth, and making the economy dynamic, according to him.
