Bakra Eid enables environment of religious tolerance, social harmony: President

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has expressed his confidence that the Eid-ul-Azha (Bakra Eid) festival would further enable environment of religious tolerance and social harmony in the country having cultural and ethnic diversities.

In a message of best wishes today on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha (Bakra Eid), a great festival of the Muslims, the President has wished for the peace, prosperity and happiness of all Nepali Muslim brothers and sisters at home and abroad.

He hoped the festival would contribute to create environment for national unity, togetherness and cooperation.

“Such festivals are instrumental in promoting indigenous culture and tradition of different ethnic groups and communities and also enhancing mutual god will, tolerance and unity in diversity”, the message reads.

Likewise, Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav also wished for the good health and happiness of all Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion.

In a message of best wishes delivered today, he said the grand festival of Muslim community should be taken as a good opportunity to express commitment for peace-building and well-managed development.

The Vice President also expressed his confidence that the festival would contribute to further strengthen national feeling of unity among the people.
