FDB dissatisfied with budget



KATHMANDU: Film Development Board (FDB) has said the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2023-24 failed to well address the Nepali film industry.

As Board Chair Bhuwan KC said, their voices were not addressed by the budget.

It said the Board had proposed a budget for it after consultations with experts and organizations concerned, but it was unheeded. He was speaking at a press meeting here on Thursday.

The concept of establishing studios for the promotion of Nepali films is positive, the decision to impose just one percent tax on imports of foreign movies instead of the proposal for five percent is concerning, he said.
