IFRC Secretary General congratulates climber Sherpa



KATHMANDU: Mingmar Sherpa, a resident of Taikub from Soludhudhkunda Municipality-1 in Solukhumbu district, has scaled Mt Everest successfully.

He reached atop Everest on May 16, according to the Nepal Red Cross Society. Climber Sherpa had hoisted the Red Cross’ flag.

The Red Cross’ flag was handed over to him by Nepal Red Cross Solukhumbu chapter before expedition.

Meanwhile, Secretary General and Chief Executive Officer of the International Federation of Red Cross Societies, Jagan Chapagain, congratulated climber Sherpa.

“I heartily appreciate untiring efforts, and diligence of climber Sherpa who scaled Mt Everest. I congratulate and extend special thanks to him for hoisting Red Cross’ flag. It has inspired Red Cross for further activism on volunteerism and humanitarian service,” Chapagain mentioned in social media post.

Even the Country Representative of IFRC in Nepal congratulated climber Sherpa on his feat.
