KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has assured the private sector that any law suppressing private sector or bringing negative impact on industry/business would not be formulated.
Prime Minister Dahal opined that any law shrinking the private sector space or negatively impacting it would not be formulated at a time when the country’s economy was grappling with crisis.
“Our constitution has made arrangement of promoting private sector. Economy is still in crisis. Existing economic challenges can be averted only if there is strong collaboration between the government and private sector and by addressing each other’s interests in such troubled times”, he mentioned.
He said this with the newly-elected office-bearers of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), at Baluwatar.
PM Dahal clarified, “The national challenges cannot be addressed negating the private sector or imposing control on it. So we will not make any law that will have negative impacts on private sector.”
He shared the government put forward a discussion to include the private sector in the order of precedence.
The Prime Minister expressed the belief that the FNCCI has obtained a new capable leadership through the recently held annual general assembly and the new working committee would make strong collaboration with the government to address persisting economic challenges.
