POKHARA: Chief of Gandaki Province, Prithvi Man Gurung, has said that the Bijaya Dashami aka Bada Dasain festival contributes towards increasing social unity, mutual goodwill and fraternity.

In a message of best wishes on the occasion of the Bijaya Dashami festival, Province Chief Gurung believed that this festival teaches us all to fight against antagonism, injustice and all types of atrocities, diseases, hunger and misery to end the falseness.

He reminded that the Bada Dasain festival observed by offering special worship to Goddess Nawadurga from Ghatasthapana to Nawami is a symbol of victory of truth over falsehood.

“The various festivals celebrated in our country have important role in further consolidating the uniqueness among the geographical, cultural and linguistic diversity, and in preserving and keeping intact the cultural unity and identity,” Province Chief Gurung asserted.

He added that protection and preservation of these festivals helped increasing a sentiment of unwavering respect and deep love towards the nation.

“I express my hearty best wishes to all Nepali sisters and brothers within the country and abroad for their happiness, peace, prosperity, good health, long life and continued progress on the occasion of the Bijaya Dashami festival,” Province Chief Gurung said.
