Four former CJs turn down impeachment committee’s summon



KATHMANDU: Four former Chief Justices (CJ) of the Supreme Court have turned down the instruction of the parliamentary impeachment recommendation committee of the House of Representatives for giving their statements.

The Committee had summoned former chief justices Min Bahadur Rayamajhi, Anupraj Sharma, Kalyan Shrestha and Sushila Karki for a discussion on Thursday at 1 pm to record their statements.

But the former Chief Justices refused to go to the meeting saying that it would not be appropriate for them to attend such meetings.

Former Chief Justice Sharma said that they will publish their views on this in writing.

The committee summoned 6 judges and 4 former chief justices named by suspended Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana during the statement before the committee.
