Teej festival: Over 2,000 police personnel deployed in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: More than 2,000 police personnel have been deployed in Kathmandu on the occasion of the Teej festival today.

Security arrangements have been tightened in Kathmandu due to crowding in various temple premises including Pashupati Temple.

According to SP Dineshraj Mainali, a total of 2,400 police personnel — 1000 female police and 1400 male — have been deployed in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

SP Mainali said as many as 1,200 policemen have been mobilized in the Pashupati area alone.

Similarly, police have also mobilized police in plain clothes.

An ambulance and a medical team have also been deployed in the area.
