KATHMANDU: Monsoon is likely to remain for another three more days, a meteorologist has said.
Meteorologist Samir Shrestha said that the monsoon will remain active across the country for some more days due to the effect of air vapor coming from the Bay of Bengal.
According to him, though the low-pressure belt is slightly south of Nepal, the effect of air vapor will cause rain.
“Heavy rain is likely in the next three days in some parts of Province No. 1, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces,” he added.
Shrestha further shared that light to moderate rainfall will occur in most parts of the country during the period.
Against this backdrop, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has called for taking necessary precautions as the water level in rivers and streams may rise and there is possible risk of soil erosion, landslides and mudslides in hilly areas.
