‘NAC continues to remain under govt’s ownership’

KATHMANDU: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), the flag carrier of the country would continue to remain under full ownership of the government, the NAC has said.

The NAC has held discussions to seek alternatives for its management in the context when it has suffered an acute economic crisis, the corporation has said responding to the protest launched by its employees over the alleged efforts to privatize it.

On NAC’s calls to the government and the Ministry of Finance to provide finance so as to make it strong financially, the NAC has received a nod in this regard from the Ministry and it has moved ahead accordingly, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by the NAC General Manager Dim Prasad Poudel.

As part of the protest over ‘efforts’ to privatize the NAC, the employees of the corporation have padlocked the workstations of its high-ranking office bearers.
